Sandusky Rotary Spouse/Partner Membership Plan
What is it? The spouse/partner membership allows a spouse or partner (living in same residence) to be a Rotarian via an added discount. Compared to the usual Individual Member Dues structure, you can join Sandusky Rotary at a substantial savings. Even with this discount, Spouse/Partner Members are considered active Rotarians by the Club and Rotary International with all privileges and recognition of membership.
Benefits of welcoming Spouse/Partners Admittedly, with this program, Sandusky Rotary will grow in numbers as we welcome new members. The primary purpose, is to add members who already understand the values of Rotary and appreciate the opportunity to participate with Sandusky Rotarians as equal and active members. It is clear that many Spouse/Partners are as engaged as their partners currently are. Shopping at Clothes Kids each year is just one example. Why not make it official? This new membership category broadens, enriches, and increases the size, depth, and diversity of Sandusky Rotary. As active members you are encouraged to participate in all club activities, volunteer, vote on club matters, serve as club officers, and be on our club committees.

As an active member you can be totally engaged. You already share similar interests and you can bring to the Rotary agenda one or more projects or passions that are important to you.
At weekly meetings you can meet and collaborate with leading professionals in the area. Or just enjoy the program, and/or connecting with friends.
Together with your Rotarian, you can visit and even participate in Events, Club Meetings, and inspiring Service Projects when on Vacation or travelling abroad. Rotary is in 234 countries.
Together, or on your own, you can join in a Mission Trip or International Project with other Rotarians in new countries such as Costa Rica, Honduras, Nigeria, or Sri Lanka.
Your ideas, time, and talent will be welcomed by a Club (100 years strong).
You can visit other Clubs in Ohio on a Road Trip with other Spouse/Partner Members or on your own.

Spouse/Partner Membership Nomination Process
Approval
You can become a Rotarian in Sandusky Rotary Club through the existing member approval process. Please complete the application and give to the Club Secretary who will bring it to the Board for review and then Club for approval.
Three Meeting Criteria is Waived
No doubt as an active spouse/partner these past years, you have attended more than the required 3 meetings or events to qualify for membership consideration. No reason to delay your nomination.
Sponsor
Your Sponsor can be your spouse (current active member).
Inductions
As a spouse/partner member you will be formally inducted into the club as any new active member.

Attendance
All active members are encouraged to attend their local club meetings as well as participate in service projects and events. Rotarians are also encouraged to become familiar with, attend, and engaged in district and international service and event opportunities.
Votes and Quorum For the purpose of general meetings and club matters, a spouse/partner member is a voting member.
Holding Office The spouse/partner member is a full and active member. As such, you can hold any office in the Rotary Club to which the you are elected.
Financial Obligations The financial obligations will be as follows:
1) Rotary International and the District 6600 dues will be paid semi-annually as part of the Dues Plan. 2) Please review the Dues Grid with this Recap Sheet for better understanding.
3) Meals/Beverages: The spouse/partner member will pay for a meal when they attend the meetings only. The spouse member may also qualify for the primary member’s meal in his or her absence

If Status needs to change If the existing primary member is no longer a member, the spouse will become an Individual Member and be expected to pay the full Active Dues at the next Billing Period.
Receipt of the Rotarian or Rotary Regional Magazine Only the existing and original member will receive the Rotary Magazine. You may request one added to your plan in writing to the club treasurer. There is an additional $6.00 annual cost for this change.
Public Liability Coverage The spouse/partner will be included in the Sandusky Rotary Club liability insurance plan while participating in any approved club activity or project, if applicable.
